Overview
OTHERWIND creates environments that respond to their surroundings. We work closely with architects, designers, engineers and skilled trades to develop and execute projects with clarity, rigor and intent. Honest, long-term relationships are central to how we work, along with steady communication, mutual respect and a shared commitment to quality.
From 2014 to 2023, we operated as boutique residential developers, assembling and leading teams to deliver custom hillside homes in Silver Lake and Echo Park. In 2023, we expanded into general contracting, broadening our work across new construction and renovation projects while allowing for closer collaboration with architects and clients.
Services
We specialize in custom homes, ADUs, renovations and landscape-integrated work across Los Angeles, with deep expertise in hillside construction. We regularly collaborate on architect-led projects, translating design intent into carefully executed work.
Our work spans site evaluation and planning through construction and project management, with direct leadership at every stage. We oversee permitting, compliance, and coordinate a trusted team of subcontractors, fabricators, and field partners.
Leadership
PATRICK VAILLANCOURT is a licensed general contractor and fourth-generation builder. He holds a BFA in Sculpture from Washington University in St. Louis and a MFA from CalArts.
SIDONIE LOISELEUX is an artist, interior designer and project manager. She grew up in France and studied visual art at L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. She received her MFA from CalArts.
